Kyle Burrell
Kyle is from Rabun County - he's been seriously fly fishing, tying, and rod-building since 1984 - he probably knows the Chattooga River as well as anyone - it's where he grew up. Kyle holds a Master's Degree in Forest Resources Management, with a concentration in coldwater fisheries. He is an expert on trout behavior and trout stream ecosystems. His graduate thesis entitled "Seasonal Movement of Brown Trout in the Chattooga River Watershed" was published in Transactions of the American Fisheries Society in 2001. Kyle has been a U.S. Forest Service Fisheries Biologist in North Carolina and Georgia, and has worked as an Environmental Scientist in the Atlanta area.
Now a full-time trout fishing guide, Kyle has been guiding for over 10 years, and splits his time between Georgia in the winter, spring and fall, and Wyoming in the summer, primarily fishing the upper Green River. Kyle is an experienced driftboat captain, and is known in some circles as "Hoover"...a nickname he gained by being able to vacuum up all the fish in the river.
