North Carolina

North Carolina has many excellent trout streams, from freestone mountain streams to tailwaters. Of special importance are the streams in the Delayed Harvest program, such as the Tuckasegee and Nantahala - both of which are within 50 miles of Unicoi Outfitters. North Carolina is home to streams that have made Trout Unlimited's top 100 streams in the US - some of which are in the Great Smoky Mountains NP. Best of all, these streams are an hour and a half to two hours driving time from Unicoi Outfitters.

Careful presentation and a stealthy approach are a requirement for fishing mountain streams.
