Welcome to Unicoi Outfitters, your North Georgia fly fishing specialists. We offer two full service fly fishing shops in Helen and Blue Ridge, guide services, regional fishing information, and fly fishing for trophy rainbow trout and brown trout in privately-owned waters including the exclusive 1.5 mile section of the Chattahoochee River at Nacoochee Bend.
Other private streams we have access to are Noontootla Creek Farm, Frog Hollow, and Mountaintown Creek. Each of these streams is managed for trophy trout and has its own set of unique characteristics. Many clients schedule regular trips to sample several of the streams in one visit, while others have come to discover that one particular stream is their favorite and return to the same stream over and over. We say the fun is in the discovery!
Unicoi Outfitters Loves to Teach
We like nothing better than sharing the fondness we all have for fly fishing, and enjoy teaching others to fly fish. We hold regular classes in beginning fly fishing and fly tying, and occasional intermediate and advanced classes. We are also home of the "Gilligan Special" - the three hour tour that leads to a lifetime of adventure. We have had many clients whose first hands-on exposure to fly fishing was the Gilligan, and had it lead to a strong life-time interest in the sport.
We also partner with others, such as the Atlanta Fly Fishing School, and Georgia Women Fly Fishers in our attempts to better educate the fly fishing public.
Two Full Service Fly Shops
In addition to our guide and teaching services, Unicoi Outfitters operates two well-stocked full-service fly shops, carrying some of the best fly-fishing brands available anywhere. We are happy to take orders over the phone and ship to you, or even better, have you visit one of our shops on the way to the stream. Shipping is free on orders over $200, and if you purchase a premium rod from us, we sweeten the deal with a complimentary half-day of unguided trophy trout fishing at Nacoochee Bend.
