Bass Trips

River Bass

River Bass are veracious predators, and strong fighters- a worthy adversary for the fly rod. Many rivers in North Georgia boast water for both Shoal Bass and Spotted bass. These rivers are also home to Redeye bass, Stripers, Longnose Gar, Carp and plenty of Sunfish species. All of our river bass float trips are guided out of 3 man Smithfly Big Shoals rafts, and will typically consist of a 6 hour float. On these trip lots of accurate casting in the 30′-40′ range is needed throughout the day to be successful. With that said we find these trips best suited for anglers with at least intermediate casting and fly fishing experience. In addition to fly fishing on these trips we also use artificial lures on conventional tackle.

We offer river bass float trips March-October, weather permitting.

Reservoir Bass

Northeast Georgia is home to some amazing highland mountain reservoirs that are not only scenic, but are also world class bass fisheries. The fish feed heavily on bait like Blueback herring which allows the spotted and largemouth bass that call these lakes home to get large and fight hard. Unicoi guide Jake Darling runs trips on these reservoirs and he knows how to catch the big ones!
